ALLEN PARK, Mich. — In a few days, the Lions will head to New Jersey, aiming for a productive week.
Longtime friends Dan Campbell and Brian Daboll are familiar with each other. For the second consecutive year, Campbell’s Lions will have joint practices with Daboll’s Giants, followed by a preseason game. This will offer a clear view of the Lions’ progress, providing a welcome break from two weeks of intra-team competition.
But first, one final session of practice remains.
“This will be more of a scrimmage format today,” Campbell told reporters this morning. “We’ll spot the ball and move it around. Nothing will be scripted, so that’s the plan for today. I’d like to get about 35 or 40 reps in and we’ll compete, so we’re excited about this day.”
The Lions had a productive day. Apart from some special teams drills, the day was almost entirely dedicated to scrimmage periods.
Here are some highlights.
