Breaking News: Richarlison Is Back Again……………….read more.

Richarlison’s brace on his return to Goodison Park seemed poised to earn Tottenham a draw on points with third-placed Arsenal. However, Spurs were denied a win in the dying moments as Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite headed in a free-kick at the far post, giving the Toffees a crucial boost in their fight for survival.

Man Utd could be saved by the absence of Richarlison - Everton simply don't win without him

Tottenham remain in fourth place but risk being overtaken by Aston Villa, who face Sheffield United later on Saturday.

Since his £60 million ($76 million) move in July 2022, Richarlison had netted just one Premier League goal for Spurs up until December 2023. Yet, he’s now found the net nine times in Tottenham’s last eight league matches, a timely scoring streak in the absence of Son Heung-min, who is away at the Asian Cup.

The 26-year-old Brazilian was warmly received by Everton fans, refraining from celebrating his goals and even raising a hand in apology to his former club’s supporters.

Richarlison’s first goal came just four minutes in, when Destiny Udogie’s run to the byline ended with a driven cross that Richarlison expertly swept in first-time.

Everton’s fans, still angry about their 10-point deduction for financial rule breaches from the 2021/22 season, made their displeasure known with placards and chants aimed at the Premier League’s hierarchy, both before the match and in the 10th minute. The club is appealing the decision, with a verdict expected soon, and further penalties may be on the way for exceeding financial limits last season.

On the pitch, Sean Dyche’s side fought back after a poor start. They equalized when they targeted Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario from corners, with Jack Harrison capitalizing on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header.

Richarlison restored Tottenham’s lead with a brilliant long-range effort, curling the ball into the top corner. Despite controlling much of the second half, Spurs missed several chances to seal the victory, with Jordan Pickford making crucial saves, including denying Richarlison a hat-trick.

Pickford’s efforts paid off when Everton snatched a point in stoppage time, as Tottenham struggled to defend another set-piece, with Cristian Romero’s attempted clearance only leading to more pressure.
