Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has affirmed that Ricardo Pereira remains part of his plans. The Portuguese defender might be involved in the upcoming Carabao Cup match against Walsall.
Cooper stated: “I talk to Ricky regularly. He’s a top professional and a key figure in the dressing room, setting the standard for others.
“Like every player, he wants to be on the pitch, but he understands the competition for places. Sometimes you’re in the starting XI, and other times you’re not. We’re in a great position with our right-back options, so whoever we choose, it’s a positive.”
Regarding Tuesday’s match, Cooper mentioned, “We’ll assess the players after the Everton game, considering both fitness and any injuries, before deciding on the best approach.
“We’re aiming for a win. The squad we field will be experienced and strong. You saw the depth on the bench. Whether we make several changes or stick with our usual league players, it’ll be a seasoned team in a match we want to win.”
