In Spokane, Washington, former Gonzaga Bulldog standout Kaylynne Truong has transitioned to the professional ranks after being chosen as the 21st overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics.
Truong was selected as the 9th pick in the second round during Monday’s WNBA Draft, joining her teammate Brynna Maxwell, who was picked 13th overall by the Chicago Sky.
During the season, Truong showcased her skills, averaging 11.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists over 36 games. Her impressive performance earned her a spot on the first team all West Coast Conference, amassing a total of 411 points, 208 assists, 84 rebounds, and 48 steals.
The Washington Mystics, who finished 7th overall in the WNBA last season and made it to the playoffs, will be counting on Truong’s talents to contribute to their upcoming season after falling to the New York Liberty in the first round of the playoffs.
