GIANTS unveil special ANZAC Day jersey in commemoration.
The GIANTS are set to proudly don a special Anzac Day jersey during their match against the Brisbane Lions at Manuka Oval on ANZAC night. This marks only the second time the club has played on this significant day, and they are commemorating the occasion with a new jersey design.
Crafted in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and GIANTS midfielder Tom Green, whose father Richard serves as an army officer, the Anzac Day jersey features a striking artistic camouflage pattern inspired by the unique designs used by all three branches of the ADF. Additionally, a symbolic poppy is displayed on the front of the jersey, serving as a tribute to those who have served and made sacrifices in the ADF.
The inside collar of the jersey bears the words “Lest We Forget,” serving as a poignant reminder to honor and remember all who have served and continue to serve. This detail is meant to stand out to players as they put on the jersey.
In continued support of the Returned and Services League (RSL), a portion of the proceeds from sales of Anzac items will be donated to the RSL’s 2024 ANZAC Appeal.
The GIANTS will wear this special jersey when they face the Lions in round seven at Manuka Oval on Thursday, April 25, at 7:30 pm.
