Surprising  Acts: Rangers most talented star player is suspended after the match due to

Wednesday night’s game between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils kicked off with a chaotic scene as all 10 players on the ice engaged in a brawl right from the opening faceoff.

The focal point of the altercation was a showdown between Rangers forward Matt Rempe and New Jersey’s Kurtis MacDermid. This confrontation stemmed from a previous encounter when the Devils visited Madison Square Garden on March 11. During that game, Rempe had declined MacDermid’s invitation to fight early on. However, later in the match, Rempe delivered a high elbow to Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler, resulting in a four-game suspension.

On Wednesday, Rempe and MacDermid’s altercation extended beyond the initial skirmish, persisting at center ice after the other fights had concluded. Each team had four players ejected from the game just 2 seconds after the opening puck drop.

MacDermid commented on the incident, expressing appreciation for his team’s solidarity and acknowledging Rempe’s determination as a young player.
