Caitlin Clark draws strong reaction from Indiana Fever coach with strange answer to personal question

Basketball enthusiasts are familiar with Caitlin Clark’s tenacity on the court, yet unlike some of her WNBA counterparts such as Angel Reese, she maintains a bit of mystery surrounding her personality. When a reporter probed deeper into Clark’s true nature, her response was unexpected.

Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides was taken aback when she discovered what Clark loves besides basketball. The question seemed geared toward uncovering the 22-year-old’s hobbies or interests. While we know Caitlin’s fondness for High School Musical, Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs, and her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, she tends to keep other aspects of herself private.

Clark, likely fatigued from extra workouts before preseason practices, revealed her affection for homemade baked goods, catching Sides’ attention.

“I enjoy warm chocolate chip cookies. So, I suppose that,” Clark said with a tired chuckle.

She reminisced about her mom bringing desserts for her teammates and coaching staff during her time at Iowa, prompting smiles from Sides and teammate Aliyah Boston.

“Ann Clark, if you’re listening,” Caitlin called out to her mom, before Sides interjected, “warm cookies!”

The Fever will get to taste the Clark family recipes on May 16, as Caitlin’s mom plans to attend their highly anticipated game against the New York Liberty, the 2023 WNBA Finalist.

But before that, Indiana faces the Atlanta Dream in its final preseason game on Thursday, May 9, and kicks off the WNBA regular season on the road against the Connecticut Sun on May 14.
