Florida softball secures SEC Tournament championship against the Missouri Tigers.

Florida softball clinched its sixth Southeastern Conference Tournament title on Sunday by defeating the Missouri Tigers 6-1 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama. This win ties the Gators for the most tournament victories in the league and grants head coach Tim Walton the highest number of championships for any skipper in SEC history.

Entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed, the Orange and Blue faced the No. 5 seeded Mizzou. As anticipated, the finals unfolded according to seeding, with Florida proving too strong for Missouri.

The Gators relied heavily on the long ball, scoring five of their six runs via home runs, including hits from Skylar Wallace and Mia Williams. Right-handed pitcher Keagan Rothrock delivered her second consecutive complete-game performance, providing stability for Florida on the mound.

With a flawless 3-0 sweep this year, the program enhanced its SEC Tournament record to 40-29. Additionally, this marked Florida’s 10th appearance in the SEC Tournament Championship game, ranking second in league history behind the LSU Tigers’ 11 appearances.
