‘Ecstatic Deal’; Infielder Andre Lipcius Tigers bids a farewell departure to Dodgers

The recently acquired infielder for the Dodgers expressed immense joy upon being traded to the team.

Andre Lipcius experienced a whirlwind week during spring training. The Dodgers acquired him from the Detroit Tigers for cash on Monday, and by Tuesday, he was already meeting his new teammates at Camelback Ranch.

Drafted by the Tigers in the third round in 2019 from Tennessee, Lipcius has spent four seasons in the organization, boasting a combined .266 average with 88 doubles, 38 home runs, and 212 RBIs.

Last season, Lipcius batted .286 with a double and a home run in 13 games for the Tigers.

Despite being just 25 years old, Lipcius is prepared to fulfill any role the Dodgers assign him, including starting the year in Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With Lipcius’s signing, the Dodgers added him to the 40-man roster, necessitating the move of Clayton Kershaw to the 60-day injured list.
