Oxford United have secured the long-term signing of Derby midfielder Louie Sibley.
The 22-year-old declined a new contract with the Rams and joins the Kassam Stadium on a free transfer.
Sibley, a product of Derby’s academy, made 44 appearances in all competitions last season, netting six goals as Derby earned promotion to the Championship alongside Oxford.
“Louie has been a key player for Derby since breaking into the first team,” said Oxford United head coach Des Buckingham.
“We are thrilled to add someone of his caliber to our squad. Getting a player who is still so young yet has extensive experience in the football league is incredibly exciting for us as a club.
“We believe Louie will be a very positive addition and will help us achieve our objectives next season and beyond.”
During his time with the Rams, Sibley made 173 appearances and scored 20 goals, having debuted for the first team at the age of 17 in 2019.
