“Michael Sadler Returns to the Stage as SAGA Announces New Album and World Tour”
In a triumphant turn of events sure to thrill fans around the globe, legendary Canadian progressive rock band SAGA has announced the return of frontman Michael Sadler to the stage—alongside a brand-new studio album and a world tour slated for late 2025.
Sadler, who bravely stepped away from performing in 2024 to undergo surgery for a rare form of cancer, has officially been cleared by doctors to return to live shows. In a heartfelt video posted on the band’s official website and social media, Sadler expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support: “You carried me through the darkest time of my life. Now it’s time for us to make music again—together.”
But that’s not all. SAGA also revealed details about their upcoming album, “Beyond the Chapters,” their first collection of entirely new material since Sagacity (2014). The album, according to early reports, will revisit and expand the band’s iconic Chapters saga with a fresh sound blending classic synth-laden textures with modern production. Lead single “The Traveller’s Return” is set to drop in August.
The accompanying “Beyond the Chapters World Tour” will kick off in Europe this fall, with North American and South American legs planned for early 2026. Guitarist Ian Crichton, who had been sidelined with an injury, is also confirmed to be returning.
This announcement marks a powerful comeback for one of progressive rock’s most enduring acts. For fans who’ve followed SAGA’s journey since 1977, it’s not just a return—it’s a revival.
