Official: Former USC cornerback Adoree’ Jackson signs with Philadelphia Eagles

Less than a month after their Super Bowl victory, the Philadelphia Eagles are already focusing on 2025. On Thursday, they made a significant move in their title defense by bringing a legendary Trojan to their roster.

Thursday afternoon, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reported that the Eagles are signing former USC star cornerback Adoree’ Jackson. The terms of the deal have not yet been reported.

Jackson comes to Philadelphia from New York, where he spent the past four seasons with the Giants. Prior to that, Jackson began his career with the Tennessee Titans, who drafted him, 18th overall back in 2017.

USC fans have fond memories of Jackson as a shutdown cornerback who also returned kicks and punts, and even played on offense occasionally. As a junior in 2016, Jackson won the Thorpe Award as the country’s top defensive back. In his final game at the Coliseum against Notre Dame, he had a kickoff return touchdown, punt return touchdown, and reception touchdown all in the same game. A month later, he ended his USC career with an interception in the Trojans’ instant classic Rose Bowl victory over Penn State.

While not quite living up to the hype that surrounded him when he was drafted, Jackson has had a very solid NFL career. Now, he will join a Philadelphia secondary that experienced a resurgence in 2024 thanks to rookie cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell. Eagles fans are hoping that Jackson will provide solid depth to their secondary as they attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions this upcoming season.
