In a surprising revelation that has set the symphonic metal world abuzz, Nightwish frontwoman Floor Jansen and founding keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen have officially announced the upcoming release of a joint solo album, created in secret during the band’s current hiatus.

Titled “Echoes of a Silent Star”, the album is set for release on October 11, 2025, with a supporting European tour beginning just two weeks later in Amsterdam. The project, which blends orchestral cinematic elements with ethereal vocal arrangements, was reportedly written over the course of two years in complete secrecy.

In a joint statement posted on their personal social media pages, Tuomas and Floor wrote:

Sources close to the duo describe the album as a mix of neoclassical, ambient, and folk-inspired pieces, featuring a full orchestra and minimalist electronic textures. Perhaps most shockingly, none of the other Nightwish members were reportedly aware of the project until recently. However, no internal conflict has been reported—Holopainen emphasized that this solo venture was “never intended to compete” with the band, calling it “a personal expression of healing and experimentation.”

The “Echoes Tour 2025” will include select theaters and intimate venues across Europe, with North American dates expected to be announced later this year.
