Quinn Hughes nearing Canucks return? Latest injury update

As of May 21, 2025, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes has faced multiple injury challenges throughout the 2024–25 NHL season. Despite these setbacks, he has demonstrated resilience and continues to be a pivotal player for the team.

Hughes has contended with several injuries this season, including:

Lower-Body Injury (February 2025): He sustained a lower-body injury during a game against the Dallas Stars, causing him to miss multiple subsequent games.

Oblique Injury (March 2025): An oblique injury led to his absence in several matches, including a notable game against the Seattle Kraken where he sat out the final 9:05 minutes.

These injuries have limited his participation, but he has remained a significant contributor when on the ice.

Despite the injuries, Hughes has maintained an impressive performance level. In 68 games, he has accumulated 76 points (16 goals, 60 assists), leading the team in both assists and total points. His average ice time stands at 25 minutes and 44 seconds per game, underscoring his importance to the team’s defensive and offensive strategies.

Hughes was slated to join Team USA for the 4 Nations Face-Off final. However, due to his injuries, he was not medically cleared to participate and remained in Vancouver. His absence was a significant blow to Team USA’s defensive lineup.

As the offseason approaches, Hughes is expected to focus on recovery and rehabilitation to return to full health for the next season. The Canucks and their fans remain optimistic about his return to peak performance.
