The Philadelphia Eagles inked Austin Watkins to a reserve/future contract on Thursday, according to Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com. The 25-year-old wide receiver had spent the entirety of the previous year on Cleveland’s practice squad and has yet to make an appearance in an NFL game. Despite this, Watkins showcased his potential during the Browns’ preseason last summer, securing 16 receptions for 257 yards and two touchdowns across three exhibition games. Now, Watkins aims to vie for a position on Philadelphia’s active roster during the upcoming offseason.
