Former Bengals QB joins Commanders in free agency

A former quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals has signed with the Washington Commanders as a free agent.

Reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jeff Driskel has finalized a contract with Washington, joining a roster that includes Marcus Mariota following the trade of Sam Howell — a roster that may undergo further changes soon.

Driskel was initially picked up by the Bengals off waivers in 2016 and later made his debut with the team in 2018, stepping in for an injured Andy Dalton.

Interestingly, Driskel, who has moved between several teams since 2019, notably started for the Cleveland Browns against the Bengals in last season’s final game, as the Browns rested their starters on their way to the playoffs.
