Kevin King took a hiatus from the NFL for a span of two years, and here are the explanations for his absence from the Atlanta Falcons.

Kevin King has returned to the NFL, resuming his career with the Atlanta Falcons. After a two-year absence from the field, the star cornerback is staging a comeback in the league. With his return, fans are curious about the reasons behind his two-year hiatus from the game.

The rationale behind Kevin King’s absence from the NFL for the past two years.

Kevin King has been absent from the NFL since 2021, during which he missed a cumulative total of over 29 games in the first five years of his career. In 2022, recognizing the need for a serious approach to his well-being, King chose to prioritize aligning both his physical and mental health, leading him to opt out of the 2022 season.

Having communicated his concerns with the Green Bay Packers, King took the entire season off to focus on his health alignment. Although the team anticipated his return for the 2023 season, a significant setback occurred as he sustained an Achilles tear while working towards his comeback. Tragically, during this period, King also experienced the loss of his brother. Consequently, it took him a full year to regain fitness and readiness to rejoin the game.

Now, the star cornerback is making his comeback, signing with the Atlanta Falcons on April 8, 2023, under a one-year contract. Prior to joining the Falcons, King spent five seasons with the Packers, during which he appeared in 51 out of 81 regular-season games. Throughout his tenure, he recorded 197 tackles, three quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, and one sack. Despite his peak in 2019, King is aiming for a remarkable resurgence in the upcoming 2024 season.
