What Arkansas can expect from the commitment of three-star linebacker Jayden Shelton

The Arkansas Razorbacks added a new member to their 2025 recruiting class on Monday with the commitment of three-star linebacker Jayden Shelton.

Hailing from the Dallas, Texas, area and representing South Oak Cliff High School, Shelton attended Arkansas’ spring game on Saturday before making his commitment.

As the sole defensive commitment in the 2025 class so far, Shelton opted for the Razorbacks over offers from schools like Auburn, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Oregon. Prior to visiting Fayetteville, he also took a trip to Texas A&M.

Although Arkansas has historically recruited linebackers well, they face a shortage at the position heading into the 2024 season. While Shelton won’t immediately address this need, his commitment promises to bolster the team’s linebacker depth in the coming seasons. Here’s what Shelton brings to the Razorbacks:
