Dan Dickau discusses which West Coast Conference team stands to gain the most from utilizing the transfer portal.

Actively engaging in the transfer portal has become a crucial aspect of building college basketball rosters. This holds true not only for Gonzaga but for most teams in the West Coast Conference. In the 2023-24 season, six out of the 10 players on the all-conference first team were transfers, and five of the top 10 scorers began their collegiate careers elsewhere.

While Gonzaga notably benefited from the portal last season by acquiring Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard, who both earned All-WCC honors and propelled the team to the Sweet 16, the upcoming 2024 offseason might witness a different WCC team making strides up the league rankings with new additions.

Former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau suggests that Steve Lavin could make significant moves in the portal to elevate San Diego’s position in the standings next season. Tune in to a new episode of Gonzaga Nation to hear more about this and other insights.
