Reportedly, Nikola Jokic’s brother was allegedly engaged in an altercation with a fan.
DENVER — The NBA and local law enforcement are investigating an incident involving a man purportedly identified as one of the brothers of Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic. The altercation occurred after Denver’s dramatic 101-99 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA playoffs, as captured in videos shared by TMZ and various media outlets. The footage shows the individual climbing over seats to confront another person at Ball Arena.
TMZ reported that the altercation took place on Monday night, immediately following the Nuggets’ comeback from a 20-point deficit to secure a 2-0 lead in the first-round series.
An NBA spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that the league is examining the incident. Additionally, the Denver Police media relations unit stated in an email to The Associated Press that they are investigating the matter, though it was not reported to them at the arena or following the game.
“At this time, no one has come forward as a victim of this incident,” the email stated. “The Department is looking into this incident, is actively working to identify the person in the video who was struck, and encourages anyone who was involved or witnessed this firsthand to contact the Denver Police Department.”
