Coventry City’s summer plans are actively being developed behind the scenes, with fans eagerly awaiting the club’s rebuilding efforts for the upcoming Championship season.

The club has made significant progress on the pitch in recent seasons, and supporters are keen to see how Mark Robins will strengthen and develop his evolving squad for the new campaign.

While the turnover of players isn’t expected to be as extensive as last summer—when 14 players left and 10 joined—there are several positions that need to be filled due to at least four confirmed departures. Additionally, there is uncertainty about a number of players who have only a year remaining on their current contracts.

The Sky Blues have made their first signing, bringing in winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues from Australian A-League club Macarthur FC for an undisclosed fee. He joins fellow winger Ephron Mason-Clark, who finally joined the club after City’s £4.25 million deal with Peterborough United in January.

Here are some of your thoughts on how the Sky Blues should approach the summer and which areas of the team need reinforcement.

Robbie Mason: We have significant firepower with Simms, Wright, Tats, and hopefully Mason-Clark. Thorp and Sheaf should be first choices behind Palmer, who plays in the number 10 role. So, we need someone who can play as a number 10 or an 8—basically a Gus type, though Thorp seems capable of filling that role.

I’m more concerned about the defense. We need a new number 1 goalie since Wilson was sold, along with a new center back and a defensively minded right back. Dasilva is weak defensively, even in a wing-back system. He’s useful as a left winger coming on towards the end of games, but we already have at least three options on the left flank.
