Jaguars LB Foyesade Oluokun signs contract extension

On March 29, it was reported by various media outlets that Foyesade Oluokun, linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars, signed a contract extension running through the 2027 season. According to NFL Network, the contract is valued at up to $45 million, with $22.5 million guaranteed. While the team later confirmed the extension, specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oluokun, aged 28, led the NFL in tackles during his last season with the Atlanta Falcons in 2021 and continued his impressive performance in his debut season with the Jaguars in 2022. In the 2023 season, he recorded 173 tackles, including 111 solo tackles (the highest in the NFL), 2.5 sacks, and one interception returned for a touchdown across 17 games, all of which he started, for Jacksonville.

Throughout his career spanning 98 games, with 75 starts for both the Falcons and Jaguars, Oluokun has accumulated 819 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries. He was drafted by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft from Yale University.
