Former Kentucky player Zvonimir Ivisic decides to join Arkansas basketball under the coaching of John Calipari after transferring.

Former Kentucky forward Zvonimir Ivisic announced his transfer to Arkansas to rejoin head coach John Calipari on Monday, sharing the news on Instagram.

Ivisic, aged 20, had a limited freshman season, participating in only 15 games due to NCAA clearance delays until January 20. He averaged 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 11.7 minutes per game.

Following Calipari’s departure from Kentucky after 15 years with the program, Ivisic entered the transfer portal on April 13. Calipari expressed dissatisfaction with the NCAA’s handling of Ivisic’s eligibility, stating, “It’s not fair. For him to go through what he did to get into school for two months, what he’s doing academically, how he is as a teammate.”

Ivisic’s eligibility was in question due to his prior professional basketball experience with SC Derby in the Montenegrin Basketball League and ABA Derby from 2021 to 2023.

Standing at 7’2″, Ivisic is expected to play a more prominent role in his sophomore season, having shown promise in limited playing time during the 2023-24 season. Notably, he recorded a season-high 18 points in just 20 minutes during a win over Alabama on February 24, while shooting 37.5 percent from three on 16 total attempts.

With Ivisic’s commitment, Calipari secures his first recruit for the Razorbacks as he aims to revamp the program following a 16-17 record in the 2023-24 season.
